SneakyArt on CTA #1

I love drawing on the CTA. It is one of those places in the world where humanity unites over a common need. In SneakyArt language, this reads as fertile ground. In fertile ground, you never know what you will find. There are beautiful things and ugly things, there are things you won’t see anywhere else, there is a sea of people at once alien and familiar. There is only one guarantee - it will be rich and colorful and spontaneous and worthy of art.

Here are some of the things I have seen on the CTA recently.

I am putting them some of these together as a zine, which I am going to stock at Quimby’s, the strange place in Chicago that does that kind of thing. Goddamn amazing city Chicago. But more on that later.

I have to be very quick with these drawings because I never know when my subject will leave. Nothing can take longer than 5 minutes.

This constraints impose a certain style upon my work.

I’ll put together another compilation of SneakyArt soon. Maybe cafe-people?
